It seems that Chinese smartphone brand Vivo is all set to launch its latest selfie smartphone in India. The company has sent out media invites for the launch event on September 7, where it will unveil the V7+. The invite reads, “Get ready to capture clear shot, clear moment. Come join us as we unveil the all new Vivo V7+. Redefine the selfie experience with the revolutionary selfie camera.”
Presently, there is no information available about the specifications of the smartphone.
Last month, Vivo slashed the price of its V5 Plus smartphone in India. The selfie-focused smartphone has received a price cut of Rs 4,990. Originally launched at Rs 27,980, the smartphone is now available at Rs 22,990.
GadgetsNow has confirmed with its sources that the price cut is permanent. Available in White and Gold colour combination, the V5 Plus comes with dual selfie cameras at the front. One has a 20MP module with Sony IMX376 sensor and f/2.0 aperture, while the other has an 8MP module.

The two front-facing cameras are the USP of the smartphone. Vivo V5 Plus comes with a ‘one-tap enhance’ beauty feature, that automatically tweaks multiple facial features to make the selfies look better. The smartphone sports a 16MP rear camera as well.
Vivo V5 Plus comes with a ‘Moonlight Glow’ feature which helps users click selfies in dimly-lit areas.
In terms of specifications, the smartphone features a 5.5-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution and is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM.
Vivo V5 Plus runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, skinned with the company’s own Funtouch OS. The software tweaks include an app drawer integrated with the home screen, quick settings panel that appears from the bottom of display, customized app icons and more. The smartphone offers 32GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 128GB in size.
